Before going to Tokyo Disney Resort
I’ve put together a list of things you should prepare before going to Tokyo Disney resort!
Download Tokyo Disney Resort app(Official app)
The first thing you need to do before going to a Disney resort is to download Tokyo Disney Resort app!

If you have a smartphone, be sure to download the Disney Resort official app in advance.
⭐︎Click here for the official website link!
What you can do with this official app :
- Ticket Management : Purchase park tickets directly through the app. Store digital tickets for easy access.
- Restaurant reservation
- Check the souvenirs
- Check the map (current location)
- Check waiting times for attractions, character greetings, and restaurants
- Get “40th anniversary priority Pass”
- Purchasing “Disney Premier Access”
- Using “Disney Mobile Order”
- Entry Request for shows
etc…

When I exported it, I was surprised at how many functions it had! This app is an essential item for your stay at Disney Resort.
Don’t forget your mobile battery, as it will run out of charge quickly when using GPS!
Create a Disney account
After downloading the official app, create a Disney account.
⭐︎What is “Disney account”?
A Disney account refers to a membership required to use various online services belonging to Disney, including Disney.jp which is the official Disney website in Japan.
https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/tdr/app.html

If you don’t have a Disney account, you won’t be able to use the app to purchase tickets or make restaurant reservations, so be sure to create an account.
Purchase Park tickets
Currently, tickets are not sold at ticket booths at Tokyo Disneyland or Disney Sea, and tickets must be purchased online.
Also, you must specify the date and park (land or sea) when purchasing.
You can purchase tickets online on the same day, but if they are sold out, you will not be able to purchase them.
So be sure to purchase them as soon as you decide on a date to go to the park.
Fixed-date tickets are available for purchase approximately two months in advance on the bookings/purchases page of the Tokyo Disney Resort Official Website or on the Tokyo Disney Resort App.
⭐︎Prices vary depending on the date, so check the official website for details!
“I couldn’t go on the day I had planned!” What should you do in such a case?
Unfortunately, park tickets cannot be refunded or canceled.
Tickets are valid for one year from the date of purchase, and tickets date and Parks(land or Sea) can be changed within that period.

Let’s make a plan
After purchasing your ticket, check the attractions you want to ride and show schedule in advance!
You can check the show schedule and other information on the official website here.

Shows need “Entry Request”(lottery) on the day.
If the message “We are sorry we could not arrange the experience you requested.” is shown, you will be unable to experience the facility on that day.
Read more information; here.
Recommended for families with small kids! Which attractions can we use with minimal waiting time even on busy days?
Some attractions that even small children can ride are relatively short wait times!
In Tokyo Disneyland, attractions at the Fantasyland, and in Tokyo DisneySea, the attractions in Mermaid Lagoon, I recommend.

As for my personal preference,
Land → Mickey’s PhilharMagic
Sea→Sindbad’s Storybook Voyage
are recommended.
*Sindbad is currently suspended due to maintenance until September 24, 2024.
Reserve a restaurant!
You can make reservations in advance at some of restaurants in the Park using a service called “Priority Seating“.
Priority Seating is a system for booking a dining time at certain restaurants. With a Priority Seating time, you can be seated with a minimal wait after you arrive at the restaurant.
https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/tdl/guide/priorityseating.html
We recommend booking in advance if you wish to dine at Park restaurants that offer Priority Seating.
You can reserve from 10:00 a.m. (JST) one month before the day you want to dine until 8:59 p.m. (JST) on the day before your visit.

Reservations fill up quickly, but cancellations may occur, so don’t give up and check back often!
Restaurants with Priority Seating
Disneyland :
- Blue Bayou Restaurant
- Restaurant Hokusai
- Crystal Palace Restaurant
- Center Street Coffeehouse
- Eastside Cafe
DisneySea:
- Horizon Bay Restaurant
- S.S. Columbia Dining Room
- The Teddy Roosevelt Lounge
- Magellan’s
- Restaurant Sakura
- Ristorante di Canaletto

As for my personal preference,
Blue Bayou Restaurant(Disneyland). It is in the attraction of the Pirates of Caribbean.
Restaurant Hokusai(land) and Sakura(Sea) is Japanese food restaurant.
“I couldn’t make a restaurant reservation!” In such cases, use “Disney Mobile Order”
“I tried to make a reservation at a restaurant, but I couldn’t make a reservation.”
In such cases, I recommend you using Disney Mobile Order!
Although this is different from restaurants with Priority Seating, you can specify a time and reserve items after entering the park on the day of your visit.
You can’t reserve seats, so you have to wait for a seat to open up. But on busy days, there can be long lines at the register to even only purchase items.
If you use Disney Mobile Order, it can reduce your waiting time.

How to enjoy your day at Disney Resort?
Now you can go to Tokyo Disney Resort!

Get a good night’s sleep the night before and stay in good physical condition!
Arrive at the gate one hour before the park opens
When entering Disneyland/Sea, your baggage will be inspected in front of the gate.

It looks like baggage check at the airport.
There are some things you can’t bring into the Park, so be sure to check in advance.
⭐︎Click here to see the official HP.

On really busy days (such like Weekends and vacation season), baggage inspection may take more than an hour.
Park will open earlier than planned?
You can check opening times on the calendar on the official Disney Resort website, but in most cases, the Parks open earlier.
Ex) 9:00 open → changed to 8:30 open due to announcement on the day
And also, from around 8 o’clock, there will be a long line for baggage inspection, so be careful!
Once you enter the park, get the “40th Anniversary Priority Pass”!
What is “40th Anniversary Priority Pass“?
This service, available free of charge, allows guests to select eligible experiences and enter the venue at a specified time, and enjoy their selected experience with a reduced wait time.

There is no limit to the number of tickets you can get in a day, but there is a limit to the time you can get them.
If you want to get a Priority Pass for another attraction, you can only get it two hours after getting the Priority Pass, or from the earlier of the attractions usage time.

Even if you visit is not so busy day, you won’t be able to get and use all attraction’s Priority Passes.
Decide on your priorities and experience attractions efficiently!
If you want to use Disney Premier Access (DPA), buy it as soon as possible!
What is “Disney Premier Access”??
This service, available for a fee, will allow guests to select designated times to be admitted to and enjoy certain experiences.
https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/tdl/guide/disneypremieraccess.html
The attractions available for DPA are different from those eligible for the 40th Anniversary Priority Pass.
You can also reserve a place to watch the parade, and it is rumored that the seats will be filled from the front rows on a first-come, first-served basis.

⭐︎This article is about DPA in detail. ↓↓
Check your current location and attraction wait times on the app and tour efficiently!
With the official Disney Resort app, you can check a map of the entire park and your current location.
You can also check wait times for attractions, so you can check out nearby attractions and character greetings with short wait times and visit them efficiently.
Let’s try “Entry Request”
Shows require an Entry Request.

Your party can attempt an Entry Request once per day for each venue requiring it.
It is rare to get show ticket…
Shows requiring an Entry Request are following:
Disneyland:
- Jamboree Mickey! Let’s Dance!
- Mickey’s Magical Music World
- Club Mouse Beat
DisneySea:
- Jamboree Mickey! Let’s Dance!
- Big Band Beat: A Special Treat
Some shows have non-reserved seats, and it may also be available.
If you are not selected in the lottery, let’s ask cast members.

Some cast members wear a language badge, such as “English”.
These members can speak English very fluently.
Let’s go to the character greeting
Character greetings such as Mickey and Minnie are a precious moment that can only be experienced at Disney resorts.
Taking photos with the characters will be a great memory, so I recommend.

Small children may be surprised by the characters and cry, but the cast members and characters are familiar with it, so don’t worry!
Fun even when you are lining up!
“Mickey’s House and Meet Mickey” and “Minnie’s Style Studio” are filled with things that kids will love and enjoy.
If the waiting time is up to 60 minutes, you can wait outside for about 20 minutes and then go inside when you get tired of it, so even children can easily wait.

I love to greeting characters!
Lastly
